Holidays & Family Time

Where did 2009 go? This week is Thanksgiving, and then it's all down hill 'till Christmas and the New Year. It's seems like this year went by in fast-forward mode. My children are all inches taller, sizes larger and need new shoes more often. Instead of being worried about global warming, maybe we should be worried about global speeding. Do you think the two could be related?

This year has had its ups and downs for my family. Still the never-ending legal battle that Brad-Ex is waging against my children and me, which he seems to be winning- at least the battles- but I'm not so sure about him winning the war ( I hope not). I know that I, for one, am experiencing war fatigue on monumental levels, and ready to give up the fight.

On the other hand, some rather good things have happened this year that have been in the making for years. I was vindicated in payments for the disability that occurred on December 25, 2003. It's not what happened to me- it's now verified by several doctors and a federal judge.

But I knew, or had a definite feeling, that Brad-Ex would try to destroy and to take my disability payments, and well, in a nutshell, he legally did. No big surprise, except the judge ordered an illegal action to do it. Is the judge in Brad-Ex's pocket? You decide.

But not before the boys and I had some fun. We got a car that Ryan had been longing and wishing for a long time (we desperately needed a working vehicle- ours was 20 years old and totally broken down). I got some old things that would make my mother proud. All the boys got some things that they have been waiting for a long time to receive. We got a lot of Christmas presents early this year, and I hope to have some more on Christmas, too. Of course, none of this is thanks to Brad-Ex.

I'm hoping the new year brings lots more changes to my family. One of moving geography, for sure. New digs are a necessity for our sanity. We deserve a new place to live.

I am so proud of my boys and how they are maturing. Times have been hard, but I'm a firm believer that God works in mysterious ways. There has to be a Grander Plan to have made my family endure such hideous misfortunes and extreme hardships. I still look forward to spending lots of quality time with my sons-even though they are teenagers!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Sheila
